MADISON HISLOP- STOESSEL is an up and coming writer/director from Meanjin (Brisbane, Australia) who brings an offbeat style to her short-form narrative projects. Her creations juxtapose the cheerfully mundane aspects of everyday life with her unique and often disturbing take on the unnerving and taboo.

 

Since graduating from Griffith Film School, Madi has continued to refine her writing and directing style by experimenting with genre tropes and exploring ambitious narratives and characters. Her last short film, Mud Man (2023), premiered at the Brisbane International Film Festival and has since screened at various domestic and international film festivals. She has just finished post production on her newest drama/body horror short titled Flesh Fruit.
